So many changes!

It’s springtime, and things are changing around here–for the better, thankfully!

First, I got a haircut:

5" shorter!

Then, Robby and I decided to move forward with the next phase of our grand remodeling plans: getting rid of that nasty popcorn ceiling and putting in recessed lighting! The process was more stressful than we anticipated, but we are so happy with how bright and fresh our house looks now.

To refresh your memory, here’s what we started with:

Living room before

Kitchen before

And some “in-progress” shots. We re-did the ceilings in every room in the house, so we were living in a construction zone for about 10 days. :(

No more popcorn here!

Everything was covered in plastic while the ceilings were painted.

Poor Lucy had her world disrupted.

Lucy had to live in the bathroom all day while we were at work. Thankfully, she's forgiven us now.

This is how Robby and I lived for 10 days.

And, at long last, some shots of the finished product!

Kitchen after. The pendant lights are my favorite part!

Another shot of the kitchen. My sweet husband bought me those tulips just because!

New chandelier at the top of the stairs!

Master bedroom with a new ceiling fan, just in time for the warm weather. Robby is so happy about that fan. :)

Living/dining room. We put a new fan in above the dining table, too.

The remodeling process was rough, but I’m so glad we went through it. :)

  1. Oh my gosh you guys, that looks fantastic !!! Did you do all that by yourselves? If so, I am VERY impressed. Wow, I would love to add recessed lights in our house- then I could get rid of the lamps which Avery seems to be so intriqued by :)

  2. Thanks! No, we paid the professionals to do the work this time. Robby and me trying to do electrical work ourselves would have been a disaster. :)

  3. Looks wonderful. Can’t wait to see it in a few weeks.
Glad that Lucy has the run of the house again and not
    just the bathroom.
