So the kitchen isn’t 100% done yet–we still need to tile the backsplash, add baseboard molding and a side panel to the pantry, and touch up some paint. But I’ve been asked several times for photos, so here’s an update.
View from the front door. We moved the black bookcase that used to be in the dining area upstairs and put an old dresser there to hold random stuff. The wire over the furnace door is the phone line to our DSL modem…we need to clip that up out of the way!
Looking into the kitchen, from the living room. Looks so much more open without those upper cabinets! Oh, and we Craigslisted the aquarium, which makes things look brighter, too.
View of the island. I made that window treatment! Instructions here. I had to add that band in the middle to cover a seam since our window is so wide.
Another shot of the window treatment. I’m not sure what the fabric is; I found it on sale at JoAnns and thought it would be perfect with our colors. Side notes: I love the summertime view out our kitchen window! And Robby is excited to eat that pineapple. :P
New range and microwave. Those glass-front cabinets are my favorite part of the kitchen!
New pantry, sink, and faucet. I am soooo happy to finally have a pantry! I loved organizing all my cans and cereal boxes. :)
View from the kitchen into the dining/living area. We still have to tile the backsplash; you can see the sample we decided on over there on the right. Should be pretty!
